Reading Café

This week we were so excited to welcome our families (many Grandparents) and Parishoners to share our love of books with us. It was magical to see this shared story time, we simply loved it. Following the success of this event, we will definitely be scheduling future regular events for our families to attend. We would like to thank you all for your participation and enthusiasm during the event. We really appreciate your feedback and will be added to the Pupil’s Voice page.

reading shed in school now!

Exciting news! As lots of you had requested and suggested, the reading sanctuary now has new outdoor storage for all of the books. The reading shed arrived this week and I’m sure you will agree it is looking fantastic.

St Anne’s Story Tellers Chair – 4th February 2016

The children were thrilled to have Hollywood actor Stephen Graham read ‘Giraffes Can’t Dance’, which was the story he read on ‘CBeebies Bedtime Stories’:

At a Parents Workshop in school, a group of St Anne’s parents made story sacks to support their children’s reading at home. Mrs Burgess and Mrs Walkley (parents) made a story sack of ‘Giraffes Can’t Dance’ for the Foundation Stage children.

Ready, Steady, Read/Listen!

Many thanks to all those families who have taken part in the ‘Ready Steady Read/Listen’ event with Usbourne books. Thanks to your generosity we have managed to raise £445 and through the matched funds scheme we will be able have an additional 30% free. Each class will now be getting a budget to choose new books for the school libraries. Thank you to all those families who have taken part.
