My name is David Moran, I am the local authority governor at St Anne’s Catholic Primary School. I have been on the Governing Body in that capacity since November 2013. My current term of office is due to end in 2021. In September 2018, I was proud to be appointed as Chair of the Governing Body, a role I continue to play.
My son left St Anne’s in 2019 having spent seven happy years here from Nursery to Year 6 giving him such a strong foundation to go into secondary school. I am honoured to lead a governing body whose focus is on ensuring that every pupil at St, Anne’s is inspired to fulfil their potential and get the most out of their time in primary school. I feel strongly that as a Catholic School, St Anne’s must be firmly placed at the heart of our local community and parish, developing our young people into caring and responsible citizens.
I have worked for the local council for a number of years (29 and counting!). This has largely involved supporting local elected members to play an effective role in making decisions and holding decision-makers to account both within and beyond the Council. My role has recently been extended to cover management of the Council’s procurement processes.
In my spare (!) time, I love sport (does supporting Everton count here?), reading and spending quality time with the family. I also play the role of secretary of the local rugby club that I played for after leaving school, many years ago.
