Luke McGovern

My name is Luke McGovern and it is an honour to be an associate governor at St. Anne’s Catholic Primary School, a role I was appointed to in April 2021.

Born and raised in Huyton, I attended Park View Primary School and Knowsley Hey Secondary School (now Lord Derby Academy), before progressing to Roby Sixth form college. My higher education culminated at Liverpool John Moores University in 2008 where I graduated with a BA Hons. degree in Journalism.

With my roots firmly planted in the area, I am passionate about its development, its people, and the education system.

My daughter is currently a pupil at St. Anne’s, and I believe the school’s focus on religious education and health and wellbeing has been an excellent foundation for her development.

In my professional career I have worked across several commercial roles, most recently as an e-Business manager for a global and market leading wine company, where I have been employed for the past eight years.

When I am not living my life vicariously through my daughter’s numerous sporting and social endeavours, I try to get out running, I love to travel and, as a Liverpool season ticket holder, I (sometimes!) enjoy going to the match.
