The Liverpool Counts Quality Mark

The Liverpool Counts Quality Mark was set up by the Liverpool Learning Partnership in response to the identification of Maths as an issue in school settings across the city. The aim of the programme is to focus on the attitude of all stakeholders to be more positive about maths and recognise where we use maths in every day life.

The Maths Ambassadors will be helping the school in succeeding with the Liverpool Counts Quality Mark. Their first task was to create a Maths Trail around the school so that every class can take part in it. Another task they have been asked to do is to speak to family members/friends about how they use maths in both their jobs and everyday situations. We will be publishing stories in our Seesaw journals so as to share them with families. Pupil voice is very important to us at St Anne’s so the Maths Ambassadors have been surveying their class mates as to their feelings and attitude towards maths and how we can improve this when it is less than positive. They have collated the results and as a group have decided to publish maths related puzzles, jokes and songs.
