Design Technology

“The best way to predict the future is to invent it.”
Alan Kay

At St Anne’s, Design & Technology is all about changing the way children tackle and overcome problems in order to discover our future generation of designers. Our DT curriculum will inspire children to be innovative and resilient, making creative use of a variety of resources. Children will be encouraged to enjoy failure and learn from it, in order to turn their bright ideas into successful products.

St Anne’s Catholic Primary School is a member of the Design & Technology Association (DATA). We primarily use the ‘PlanBee for DT’ scheme of work to implement Design & Technology, which is supported further by ‘Projects on a Page’ (a scheme from DATA). This scheme provides progression and coverage of the NC programmes of study for KS1 and 2 and enables our children to experience a broad and balanced Design & Technology Curriculum, rich with diverse opportunities.

The Design & Technology lead is Miss Harrison.
