Reading Shed in School Now!

As a school we are aiming to achieve ‘Reading Quality Mark’ by 2016, consequently we are focussing on how to encourage children to read for pleasure. Fundamentally, academic research has shown that reading helps to stretch and improve our brains capacity to think, it expands our cognitive connections and forges new ones! For that reason it also helps to improve our concentration skills also. There are so many benefits to our brains from reading.

 

Coming Soon - Philip McGuiness, Actor

During World Book Week, actor Philip McGuiness will be visiting school to work with classes showing them how to ‘Read Aloud’ effectively. Here is a little of the work Philip has conducted previously with ‘The Gruffalo’ and ‘Gigantasaurus.’
